1. Covered material
This license applies to original code, documentation, synthetic example data,
example figures and other original material in this repository (the Material),
unless a file expressly identifies different terms. Third-party software and
other third-party material remain under their respective licenses. This license
does not restrict rights granted directly by third parties or rights in facts,
user-supplied data, or material not owned by Jaime Yan.

2. Limited permission for personal noncommercial use
Subject to all conditions below, an individual may access, run, copy, study,
modify, and share the Material solely for personal, noncommercial purposes,
including self-study, unpaid teaching, and independent noncommercial research.
Noncommercial academic publications reporting such permitted research are allowed.
Permission is nonexclusive and royalty-free. All rights not expressly granted
are reserved. No trademark right or right to imply endorsement is granted.

3. Commercial and business use is not permitted
No commercial or business use is licensed. This includes use for or on behalf
of a business, employer or client; internal business analysis or evaluation;
consulting or other paid professional services; industry-sponsored research;
commercial clinical-trial or regulatory deliverables; a paid course or product;
and selling, licensing, monetizing or providing a hosted service incorporating
the Material. Making a product or service free to access does not make a use
noncommercial when it supports a business purpose or commercial advantage.
Any use outside Section 2 requires prior, separate written permission from
Jaime Yan. Contact the author through https://jaimeyan.com.

4. Mandatory attribution and citation
Every copy or shared modification of the Material must retain the copyright
notice, this entire license, and the attribution and citation files supplied
with it. Clearly identify Jaime Yan as the original author and retain a link
to the Project URL. Do not claim the original work as your own.

As a condition of permission to use the software, any externally shared figure,
table, demonstration, presentation, report, publication or other output made
using it must credit Jaime Yan and cite Clinical Figure Library. Place a legible
credit in the figure caption, table note, surrounding text or acknowledgments,
as appropriate, and include the software citation in a reference list when one
is present. Merely mentioning R, Python, ggplot2 or Matplotlib is not sufficient.
Purely private, unshared personal outputs do not require a public citation.

5. Sharing and downstream terms

copies or modifications. Recipients must be informed of the noncommercial-use
restriction and mandatory attribution. Do not relicense the original Material
under terms permitting business use or removing these obligations. Your changes
may carry additional notices only if they do not contradict this license.

6. Termination
These permissions automatically terminate if you fail to comply with this
license. Following termination, stop all use and distribution unless Jaime Yan
provides separate written reinstatement. Termination does not remove attribution
obligations for copies or outputs already shared.

THE MATERIAL IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR

NONINFRINGEMENT. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, JAIME YAN SHALL NOT
BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY ARISING FROM USE OF OR
INABILITY TO USE THE MATERIAL. No regulatory approval, validated clinical
instrument, medical advice or fitness for production use is represented.

8. Interpretation
This is a custom source-available license with a noncommercial restriction.
It is not MIT, Apache-2.0, or an OSI-approved open-source license. It does not
limit exceptions or rights that applicable law does not allow to be restricted.
